The 60th anniversary of the Founding of The People’s Republic of China celebration began with a huge military parade. Despite living in Beijing, the event was closed off to the general public. The government authorities had earlier advised people, not to go out and to stay at home.

For the last few weekends, the centre of Beijing has been cordoned to all vehicles and members of the public. Chang An Road, the central avenue, which runs east to west across Beijing and it’s surrounding areas have been closed for secret dress rehearsals of a huge military parade.
